I call it spring fever.
The spring is the time to gather wild medicine and natural preventatives. Learning about wild foods and resources like these is a large part of my existence.
The weather is now mild and all forms of life will be emerging from winter slumber. You too can get ready for the longer exposed days afield by naturally building up our immune system.
Our Immune system is very weak in the spring and one way to give it a boost is to make a delicious hot herbal tonic or “Spring Tea”.
Now is the perfect time to take advantage of the sweet soothing tea made from Chamomile, Rosemary a touch of raw honey infused in a bath of boiled Maple sap.
Makes 1 large serving
12-16 oz boiled maple sap OR spring water
1tbs Dried crushed Chamomile Flowers
1tsb or 1 “sprig” fresh rosemary
1tsp raw local honey
Bring sap/water to a rolling boil. Remove from heat, add Plant Ingredients and COVER. Let stand for 5 minutes and stir in honey to taste.
